Women who experience intimate partner abuse are more likely to die of a heart attack than men.

 

We are working to understand why cardiovascular disease risks increase in women who experience abuse.

 

By determining how intimate partner violence stresses the heart we can identify women most at risk & create interventions that reduce cardiovascular disease mortality.
