Dr. Glen Pyle
Principal Investigator
Dr. Glen Pyle received his PhD in Physiology & Biophysics from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, followed by an American Heart Association Fellowship in Molecular Biophysics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Pyle is a member of the IMPART Network at Dalhousie Medicine & the Women's Health Research Institute at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre. His lab is located at the University of Guelph.
Dr. Sarah Rouhana
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Sarah Rouhana received her M.Sc. from Saint Joseph University of Beirut where she focused on macromolecular interactions & functional genomics. Her doctoral work at Saint Joseph University & Montpellier University was in Physiology & Pathophysiology, where she investigated the cellular & molecular mechanisms of heart failure with preserved systolic function.
Dr. Amanda Avison
Ph.D. Candidate
Dr. Amanda Avison graduated with a B.Sc. (hons) in Animal Biology from the University of Guelph before earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Avison was an intern at the Peterson Smith Equine Hospital and Complete Care in Ocala, FL and a Fellowship in Large Animal Cardiology & Ultrasound at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center.
Melissa Scaramuzzo
M.Sc. Student
Melissa completed a B.Sc. (hons) as a Psychology Specialist at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She spent a semester of her undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney before joining the lab as an M.Sc. student.
Grace Goderre
M.B.S. Student
Grace Goderre completed a Bachelor of Bio-Resource Management (hons) degree at the University of Guelph. Before joining the laboratory as a graduate student, Grace was a surgery technician & a research assistant at the Ontario Veterinary College.
Masarra Al Dakka
M.BioTech. Student
Masarra completed a B.Sc. (hons) with a Biology Research Specialization at McMaster University. While at McMaster she also worked as a communication assistant. Masarra is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Biotechnology at the University of Guelph.
Sasha Biniwale
B.Sc. Student
Sasha is a 2nd year undergraduate student in the Biomedical Sciences program at the University of Guelph. She is currently working as a volunteer in the lab.
