Menopause increases heart attack mortality. Why this happens is unknown.

 

Our lab uses a unique mouse model of menopause to investigate changes in the heart that contribute to heart attack mortality.

We are collaborating with the Maternal & Child Health Lab at Simon Fraser University to study cardiovascular disease in women across reproductive transitions. 

​

Understanding how menopause changes the heart allows us to develop therapies that reduce cardiovascular disease risk in postmenopausal women.
